The Cleveland City Stars have signed local standout Evan Bush. The goalkeeper was a four-year starter at the University of Akron after playing with CSA Impact.

|  The Cleveland City Stars have signed goalkeeper Evan Bush from the University of Akron. The native of Concord, OH played his club ball with CSA Impact and high school ball at Lake Catholic High School in Mentor.
A four-year starter for the nationally ranked Zips, Bush is the all-time leader in the Mid American Conference in career wins (62), shutouts (48), and goals against average (.60).
"Evan played a significant amount of minutes in goal in high-pressure situations while at Akron," said Cleveland City Stars General Manager Mark Geissbauer. "He helped lead the team deep into the tournament as a freshman and Akron was nationally ranked throughout his career. We're thrilled to bring such a promising young keeper to our club and we look forward to Evan's contributions in 2009."

 Former CSA Impact player and Ohio State senior defender Dustin Kirby was selected by Real Salt Lake in the fourth round of the Major League Soccer supplemental draft, becoming the first CSA graduate to be selected by an MLS team. A co-captain and four-year starter for the Buckeyes, Kirby was a first-team All-Big Ten selection last fall. Kirby played in all 82 games in his OSU career, starting all but one, and played 7,449 minutes of a possible 7,765. |

Adam Guren was a member of the inaugural Impact team in 1994. His dominant midfield play helped the team to a State Cup in 1998 and two appearances in the USYSA Midwest Regionals. |

The first Impact team was formed in the Spring of 1994. This team had won the 1993 Bothwell State Cup and was ready for the better competition provided by the Lake Erie Youth Premier Soccer League. At the time the league consisted of all the major clubs in Northern Ohio: Emerald Soccer Club, Internationals, Ohio Premier, Cleveland United, Whitecaps, Greater Akron Premier, & Northern Ohio Inter Premier.
